November 2016 Bookish Wrap Up And December Feature Announcement
Flipping heck, where is time going? I completely missed doing an October wrap up (which I will still get round to doing I promise!) and I'm already late putting this together. But here it is!
Life Of A Nerdish Mum continues to get busier and busier and though it can be hectic and stressful, I really enjoy it and the challenge. I also seem to have started to get my reading groove back (but shhh in case I scare it off) so I seem to be getting through books again. In November I read 10 books which were
The Exiled by Kati Hiekkapelto - 5 Stars
Isabella's Adventures In Numberland by Peta Rainford - 5 Stars
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne - 5 Stars
Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington - 5 Stars
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare - 4 Stars
All Things I Can Do by Lilly Rowe - 5 Stars
Pee Wee The Christmas Tree by George Wells - 4 Stars
For The Love Of Shakespeare by Beth Miller - 5 Stars
There Will Be Lies by Nick Lake - 4 Stars
Nimona by Noelle Stevenson - 5 Stars
As usual I have linked the reviews that are already up and will add the others as they go up too. I participated in some really exciting blog tours and I have plenty more coming up in the future.
My Getting To Know... feature continued and is as popular as ever and I am currently writing the last few questions for the next set of guests. Though I'm horribly behind as real life got in the way due to my white goods all hating me apparently! The guest featured in November were
Kaisha Holloway - The Writing Garnet
Lindsay Stanberry-Flynn - Author of The Broken Road
Emma Welton - Damp Pebbles
F J Curlew - Author of To Retribution
Rebecca Bradley - Author of Three Weeks Dead
Nicky Clifford - Author of Never Again
Ben Parker - Author of Beetlebrow
Peter Taylor-Gooby - Author of The Baby Auction
Lorraine Rugman - The Book Review Cafe
I still thoroughly enjoy getting these together and it's still so exciting when an author or blogger agrees to take part.
Now onto my December feature announcement! I've been working on this since January so I really hope you enjoy it!
Starting on Tuesday the 13th of December I will be doing my 12 Days and 12 Books of Christmas feature, coming to an end of Christmas Eve. Each day I will share the book that I loved the most from each month this year and do a mini spot light on it. I've really been looking forward to this coming together and I'm really excited to be sharing my choices with everyone!
So that's my November wrap up, what did you read in November? Did you buy any awesome books? Are you looking forward to my 12 Days and 12 Books of Christmas?

September 2016 Bookish Wrap Up
Well where did the time go? By the time I've got around to doing my September wrap up it's almost time to do my October wrap up!! Between mini Nerdling starting pre-school and me getting the flu, I've just been swamped keeping up to date with everything so my wrap up got pushed to one side, but I finally am catching up (hopefully).
Ok so firstly my Getting To Know... feature is still going strong and I've had some absolutely awesome people on again in September. If you've missed any, here they are again for you:
Claire Knight - Crime Book Junkie
Claire Morley - author of "Tindog Tacloban"
Denise Erguler - author of "The Adventures Of Shifting Jack"
Susan Moody - author of "Penny Black"
Joy Wood - author of "For The Love Of Emily"
Cassandra Parkin - author of "Lily's House"
Graham Smith - author of "Snatched From Home"
Mary-Jane Riley - author of "The Bad Things"
Dane Cobain - author of "No Rest For The Wicked"
I've got plenty of exciting people coming up too so I hope you're still enjoying reading my interviews.
Myself and my buddy reader F, finished The Count Of Monte Cristo in September (look out for that review soon) and we started our next read, which is The Essential Kafka by Franz Kafka. It's definitely a lot different to anything I've read before so we'll see how we get on with it!
September for reading was another slow reading month for me, I didn't read as much as I would have liked (small spoiler for October I think I'm getting over my slump, but shh I don't want to scare it away). The books I did read are
Panterra: The Machinist by Gary L. Ward - 4 Stars
Pumpkintown Perils: A Cozy Mystery Collection by Aubrey Law - 4 Stars
Hunted: The Zodiac Murders by Mark Hewitt - 4 Stars
Captain America, Vol. 3: Loose Nuke by Rick Remender - 3 Stars
The Fury Of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men, Vol. 3: Takeover - 4 Stars
Shadow Of The Beast by Michael Fowler - 5 Stars
The Count Of Monte Cristo - 5 Stars
Time For A Short Story by Julia Roberts - 5 Stars
It was another busy month of blog tours and book blitzes in September and that will continue over the next few months which is incredibly exciting for me, I really enjoy being part of the book community and being able to chat about books!
So that's a quick over view of my bookish September, do you remember what you read in September? If not what are you reading now?

August 2016 Bookish Wrap Up
Wow what a busy month August has been! My new feature, Getting To Know... has been a huge success and I'm so happy as I am very proud of the work that has gone into it so far! There's more Getting To Know... to come all through September and I am now booking in authors and bloggers for slots from November onwards! So definitely keep your eye out for all that excitement. If you missed any of my interviews this month, here is the list of people I've been lucky enough to have on Life Of A Nerdish Mum

I really hope everyone has been enjoying reading the interviews as much as I have in doing them!
I've also taken part in some awesome blog tours and I have more planned in the coming months which as usual is awesome and I really enjoy taking part.
My reading has been a lot slower this month and I've even had to renew my library books which I never normally have to do! I'm really hoping to reading a lot more in September and I'm definitely feeling more in the mood to start devouring some books, so that's a good sign. The books I did get around to reading in August are:
1. Imperium Omni: Captain's Edition by Matthew S. Thomas - 4 Stars
2. Tridea's Children by Kevin Peake - 2 Stars
3. Beetlebrow by Ben Parker - 4 Stars
4. Broken Samurai: A Combat Marine's Journey From Hero To Hitman - 4 Stars
5. The Joker: The Clown Prince Of Crime by Dennis O'Neil - 2 Stars
6. Stop Press Murder by Peter Bartram - 5 Stars
In august I also received exciting news that I had joined #thebteam which means that I am now part of the Bookollective family of bloggers. I'll have more information about that at a later date, but I'm super excited about joining!
For September I am participating in a bookstagram challenge created by The Geeky Yogi to get me back in the habit of posting daily again, so if you like looking at bookish and nerdish photos, come take a look at my instagram @nerdishmum and say hi!
I've got more plans in the pipeline for Life Of A Nerdish Mum in the future and I'm really excited about sharing them soon hopefully!
What have you been reading this month? Have you read anything that I've read, what did you think?

Books I Read And Some Exciting News - July 2016
Wow I can't believe it's August already! This year is definitely just flying by. July was quite a light month of reading for me, between being very busy - just yesterday we visited Peveril Castle to enjoy their medieval day and then went over to the St Anne's Kite Festival, feeling a little slumpy and planning something super exciting for my blog I don't seem to have read as much. I have however done a blog review for almost everything I have read this month so that was a bonus (there are a couple more to be completed and I will link once they're up too).
August is another busy one on the blog with some blog tours and plenty of reviews as usual. I have big news though, I will have a new feature that I have been planning and getting ready (I really need an extra 10 hours a day!) and it will be called Getting To Know... and I have some absolutely fabulous authors and book bloggers lined up who have answered questions for me. I'm really excited about this, a lot of work has gone into this and I really hope you all like it!
So onto the books I did read in July
1. The Iliad by Homer - 2 Stars
2. Everyday Monsters by Lauren Christopher - 5 Stars
3. The Girl From The Sea by Shalini Boland - 5 Stars
4. Harvest Festival by Karl Drinkwater - 5 Stars
5. Iced by Karen Marie Moning - 2 Stars
6. Nomad by James Swallow - 5 Stars
7. Crossbones by Stefan M. Nardi - 5 Stars
8. Batman: Long Shadows by Judd Winick - 4 Stars
9. A Single Drop Of Perfect And Other Stories by Jessikah Hope Stenson - 5 Stars
10. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer - 3 Stars
I'm really hoping to get a lot more read in August as I don't want t get stuck in a slump for too long. My buddy reader and I will be starting our new book this week and I'm hoping that going back to our classics after having a more contemporary break will be inspiration.
What have you read this month? Anything that you'd recommend? Have you read any of the books I have, what did you think of them?

June has been a very exciting and busy month here at Nerdish HQ. On my blog I've had reviews and interviews and blog tours and there's more of them coming up in the following months. And it's been my mini Nerdling's 3rd birthday and we celebrated by going to the zoo which was amazing fun for all of us. We're also having a small family get together tomorrow (I think depending on when I post this) so that people can come see him.
I'm really enjoying all the exciting things I've been bringing to the blog and I hope you all are enjoying them too.

The only thing I've missed out this month is my comics, I still haven't got around to picking them up yet, however I have prepared my comic book journal so I'm all ready to go now in July!
If you like bookish photos I've been posting a lot more regularly over on Instagram so check that out if you like, I'm NerdishMum . If there's any kinds of blogs you'd like to see going forward, let me know, also let me know what you read in June.

Books I Read - May 2016
My reading in May has been wonderfully mixed as usual and though it looks like I haven't read as much, I have in the fact that the books I have read this month have been a lot longer in content. I haven't however got around to reading my single issue comics yet, though I have got a journal ready to start keeping a record. I still haven't decided quite how to write them in, so I've been putting off starting. Hopefully in the next few days I'll have something figured out.
Over the next month I have three book tours, the first one being on the 1st of June (so it might actually be up before this post) for Anything For Her by Jack Jordan. I will also be reviewing a few comics once I start picking them back up, as when I first started blogging it was comics that I started with and it'll be nice to get back to that in a small way.
In May I visited the Enid Blyton exhibition at the Scarborough Museum and I'm actually hoping to have a blog about the experience up in the next few days. Small spoiler, but I loved it.
Onto the books:
1. Batman: The Black Mirror by Scott Snyder - 5 Stars
2. Whispers Of Bedlam Asylum by Mark C. King - 5 Stars
3. Saga, Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan - 5 Stars
4. Saga, Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan - 5 Stars
5. Demon Bound (Marris And Wade Book 1) by David Parkland - 5 Stars
6. The Pillars Of The Earth by Ken Follett - 5 Stars
7. Anything For Her by Jack Jordan - 5 Stars
8. City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare - 4 Stars
9. City Of Ashes by Cassandra Clare - 5 Stars
I'm looking forward to all the books for review I have lined up for June and all my new books that I want to fit in around them.

Books I Read - April 2016
It's been another crazy busy month at Nerdish HQ this month and we've had a couple of weeks in which we all got sick which was really horrible. This month I think is my smallest round up of books so far this year, but I have a lot of exciting things coming up in the next couple of months, with more book tours and more author interviews.
I made more of a dent into reading our graphic novels and trade paper backs and I also finished reading a manga series that I've been reading over the past few months. Myself and my buddy reader finished another book together and we've moved onto The Pillars Of The Earth by Ken Follett and I have to say I'm absolutely loving it so far, in fact we'e enjoying it so much, we've decided to read 40 pages a day instead of 20.
Onto the books:
1. Unmarked Vampire by Belinda Laj - 4 Stars
2. The Brave And The Bold, Volume 1: The Lords Of Luck by Mark Waid - 5 Stars
3. Green Lantern, Vol 6: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns - 5 Stars
4. The Death Of Superman by Dan Jurgens - 3 Stars
5. Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 5 by Tsugumi Ohba - 4 Stars
6. The Chamber (Twin Worlds Trilogy #1) by Dominic H. King - 5 Stars
7. Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 6 by Tsugumi Ohba - 5 Stars
8. The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 1: The Faust Act by Kieron Gillen - 5 Stars
9. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens - 3 Stars
10. Absolute Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb - 2 Stars
11. The Secret Of Heaven (Aiden Leonardo #1) by Felix Alexander - 3 Stars
12. The Flash: Born To Run by Mark Waid - 4 Stars
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
I'm hoping to start catching up on reading my single issues (both hard copy and e-copy) of comics in May, I just need to figure out the best way to keep track of what I've read. I think I'll probably start a separate book/comic journal to go with my main book journal. I would love a version of Goodreads but just for comics!

Books I Read - February 2016
My reading mojo continued into February and I've been really enjoying picking up books from my shelf and diving in. I completed some books for Finish It Feb which I'll cover in a separate blog post, which felt really great. I also finally started picking up graphic novels/trade paper backs again after what seems like an absolute age and I've been loving it.
My biggest bookish news during February was that I finally finished reading War and Peace and it was extremely emotional as I really felt that I'd accomplished something after struggling with it for so long. I wrote about my experience and I've linked that blog post in the list below.
I was also part of a blog tour which was very exciting as I absolutely loved the book and I was lucky enough to interview the author for my turn on the tour and she was absolutely lovely. Again I have linked that post and the review I did below.
Onto the books I read in February -
1. Death Note: Black Edition, Vol.4 by Tsugumi Ohba - 4 Stars
2. Murder In Absentia by Asaph Mehr - 4 Stars
3. War And Peace by Leo Tolstoy - 2 Stars
4. Star Wars: Jedi, Volume 1: The Dark Side by Scott Allie - 4 Stars
5. The Kill Order by James Dashner - 3 Stars
6. Sinking by Sarah Armstrong-Garner - 5 Stars (Blog Tour Post)

What has everyone else been reading? Let me know and if you have any recommendations for me that would be awesome!

Books I Read - January 2016
I just realised that we're part way through February and I haven't done a round up of the books I read in January!
I started off the year with quite a bang and I managed to read a whopping 12 books as well as continuing to read 20 pages a day of War and Peace (but that's a whole other blog that will be coming your way very soon)!
I read a really wide variety of books in January and it really kept me motivated to read the next book as I'm just picking up whatever I feel like reading at that moment instead of planning out in advance what I should be reading.
The books that I read in January are as follows
1. FullMetal Alchemist (3 in 1 Edition), Vol. 1 by Hiromu Arakawa - 5 Stars
2. The Theseus Paradox by David Videcette - 5 Stars
3. After Anna by Alex Lake - 5 Stars
4. The Fall of Icarus by Ovid - 3 Stars
5. Pet- Friendly Francie Scores a Pooch by Kat E. Erikson - 5 Stars
6. Black Butler, Vol. 12 by Yana Toboso - 5 Stars
7. Black Butler, Vol. 13 by Yana Toboso - 5 Stars
8. Black Butler, Vol. 14 by Yana Toboso - 4 Stars
9. How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters by Andrew Shaffer- 5 Stars
10. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - 5 Stars
11. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - 5 Stars
12. Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 3 by Tsugumi Ohba - 4 Stars
Two of these books were ones I received for review and I have linked them to their reviews if you feel like going to check them out.
I'm looking forward to keeping up my reading momentum for as long as I can and having a productive February as I have a couple of books for review as well as taking part in a blog tour and having a go at Finish It Feb.
What have you been reading recently? Have you read any of the books that I read in January and if you have, what did you think of them? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!

November 2015 Book Round Up
November has been a very funny month for me and reading. Everything seems to have taken me ages to get through and I've just had no motivation at all. As you can tell from my list most of what I've read has been very short too. This isn't to say that I haven't enjoyed what I have managed to read, in particular I'll give a mention to Yonder (A Southern Haunting #1) by LeeAnne Hansen as I'm still thinking about it now and I can't wait for the next book. I've also been behind on my reviews and blogs but I'm hoping to catch up on them all in the next few days.
The books I read in November are as follows, though I am also still working my way through War and Peace (slowly, though far quicker now I have a buddy!) and Showcase: World's Finest which I will hopefully finish in the next couple of days.
Book 1 - Seriously Mum, Where's That Donkey? The Photos! by Alan Parks - 3 Stars
Book 2 - Yonder (A Southern Haunting #1) by LeeAnne Hansen - 5 Stars
Book 3 - Chef Maurice and a Spot of Truffle by J.A. Lang - 4 Stars
Book 4 - Yogscast: The Diggy Diggy Book by the Yogscast - 5 Stars
Book 5 - Death of a Dapper Snowman by Angela Pepper - 5 Stars
Book 6 - Death Comes eCalling by Leslie O'Kane - 4 Stars
Book 7 - The Girl With The Blue Umbrella by Heather Awad - 4 Stars
Now onto the future, I have actually been planning blogs that I want to do and having ideas that I'm excited about sharing! I am going to try and be a lot more organised about when I blog so it is more regular and I may even try some sort of loose schedule, but we'll see how that goes. One thing that you can look forward to, is once I've finished cataloguing and organising my book shelves I will be letting you take a peek at them, possibly even in video form!
That's all from me this month, I hope to bring you a far bigger round up at the end of December. If you don't already you can follow me @NerdishMum on Twitter so you can tell me what you're currently reading or if you've read any of the books that I've read this month.
